SOLAR RADIATION TEST
TURKAK Accredited Testing and Verification
STEST is accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Institution (TURKAK) and carries out its testing and verification activities in an independent, competent, and impartial manner in compliance with national and international standards.
Solar Radiation Test
The solar radiation test is performed to evaluate a product’s resistance to sunlight and ultraviolet (UV) exposure. Equipment used outdoors may experience discoloration, deformation, or loss of function as a result of prolonged sun exposure. This test is intended to verify the product’s long-term durability and performance.
Objective Target
- To assess the effects of UV radiation, sunlight, and thermal loads on materials and coatings.
- To measure the durability of plastics, paints, metallic coatings, and composite materials.
- To verify color stability, mechanical strength, and functional performance.
Test Scope Scope
- Solar radiation and UV exposure scenarios
- Thermal load and surface temperature effects
- Effects of long-term exposure on materials/coatings
Technical Implementation Process
- Solar radiation tests are performed in accordance with MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, IEC, ISO, EN, ETSI, ASTM, and other applicable standards.
- For functional testing, the specimen interfaces are routed to the laboratory environment via hermetic ports.
- This enables testing by simulating real sunlight conditions as accurately as possible.
Application Areas Use Cases
- Outdoor electronic and communications equipment
- Defense industry platform components and external structural parts
- Paint/coating, plastic, and composite material validation testing
At STEST, we conduct solar radiation testing in accordance with MIL-STD-810 and relevant international standards, and support the verification of your products through detailed reporting at the end of the process.
