RAIN TEST
TURKAK Accredited Testing and Verification
STEST is accredited by the Turkish Accreditation Institution (TURKAK) and carries out its testing and verification activities in an independent, competent, and impartial manner in compliance with national and international standards.
Rain Test
The rain test is performed to evaluate a product’s resistance to rainfall conditions. This test is critical for outdoor equipment, defense systems, and external electronic devices. Applications are carried out in accordance with the relevant standard requirements, primarily MIL-STD-810 F/G/H and RTCA DO-160G.
Objective Target
- To measure the product’s resistance to water ingress.
- To verify sealing performance and the functionality of electronic and mechanical components.
- To test long-term durability under rain, storm, or humid conditions.
Technical Implementation Process
- Rain tests are performed in accordance with MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, IEC, ISO, EN, ETSI, ASTM, and other applicable national/international standards.
- To enable functional testing, all specimen interfaces (communications, power cables, etc.) are routed to the laboratory environment through the rain test setup’s hermetic ports.
- This allows the product to be tested while simulating real water exposure conditions as accurately as possible.
Standards Coverage MIL / RTCA
- Rain robustness verification in accordance with MIL-STD-810 F/G/H methods.
- Evaluation in compliance with RTCA DO-160G requirements for aviation applications.
Application Areas Use Cases
- Outdoor equipment and external electronic devices
- Defense systems and platform subsystems
At STEST, we perform rain testing using controlled water exposure scenarios in accordance with relevant standards, primarily MIL-STD-810 and RTCA DO-160G, and provide the results through detailed reporting.
