EN 14269 TEST
EN 14269 Operator Cab Climate Control and EN 14269-5 Pressurization
EN 14269 is a test standard intended to measure the temperature and humidity conditions achieved through air-conditioning, heating, and ventilation in operator cabs of tractors and self-propelled machines used in agricultural and forestry applications, under specified environmental conditions. The standard recognises that in-cab environmental conditions may be influenced by factors external to the machine (e.g., solar heating) and therefore accounts for the possibility that climatic conditions may not be determinable with complete accuracy under all circumstances.
Purpose Objective
- To measure the temperature and humidity conditions achieved by air-conditioning, heating, and ventilation in the operator cab.
- To verify operator cab pressurization performance in accordance with EN 14269-5.
Test Scope Coverage
- Tractors and self-propelled machines used in agricultural and forestry machinery applications.
- Evaluation of in-cab temperature, humidity, and ventilation conditions.
- Operator cab pressurization test procedure in accordance with EN 14269-5.
Technical Implementation Process
- In EN 14269-5 testing, cab pressure is increased using a dedicated pressurization system within the operator cab.
- The pressurization system shall be supplied entirely by the standard equipment of the powered test machine operating at the declared engine speed.
- It is taken into account that external environmental factors (solar radiation, ambient weather conditions, etc.) may influence in-cab conditions.
Application Areas Use
- Assessment of operator cab climate control conditions in agricultural and forestry machinery.
- Verification of operator cab pressurization performance for tractors and self-propelled machines.
EN 14269 focuses on measuring the temperature and humidity conditions achieved through air-conditioning/heating/ventilation in the operator cab, while EN 14269-5 covers the test procedure for operator cab pressurization. Within this framework, evaluations are performed taking into account that external environmental factors may influence in-cab conditions.
